...IDK, it feels weird.
Would have appreciated it more if it didn't overlap two different types of cards being talked about, since the cards that Yahabe provided didn't interact at all with the card game that was played and talked about.
Focusing on Yahabe having cards that did stuff IRL, vs some other activity that could benefit from his powers, would flow a lot better. Even more so when the idea likely was to provide more Yahabe-adjecent creatures later on trying to destroy both it and the guy using him, so the importance of different cards and their actual duration/powers would matter...which gets murky if we're nominally supposed to also care for a card game the kid is trying to get good at.
Hell, involving a 1v1 with someone who had gotten some cards from Yabahe before he escaped would have been a much more interesting development than just "massive military force goes downtown out of nowhere and tries to kill a kid". You could even make it so said person chases them into some desolated place where the miltary force is waiting for them instead, so the use of Obelisk demonstrates how ridiculous it still is.
Kinda sad, but at least they were used to decent-to-good effect in Flowers, if nothing else.
