alright DM dropping invisible enemies so early in the campaign is just a dick move dude
GIVE OUR BOY A BREAK ALREADY :notlikethis:

but like actually can we talk worldbuilding for a sec tho? why did that little shit even fucking attack him in the first place? it's like, maybe coyote-sized or a little larger, but slightly smaller than the wolves, & it is very clearly built for stealth (obviously); this seems like a creature born to spawn-camp rabbit burrows or whatever- not jump into a fully-grown human's face to try to nibble on his goddamn nose. was it just trying to get Puppy? if so, why did it go for a frontal attack instead of trying to at least pounce from the rear? flanking is pretty easy when your opponent doesn't know where you are to begin with! it's hard to explain why, exactly, but goddamn this thing's existence & behavior kinda took me out of the setting for the first time. I've readily accepted some of the less-than-logical things that've happened before, but this thing feels like it solely exists for the sake of forcing our boy to back into the super-dangerous ant hill he was trying to avoid & nothing else, since only an unseen threat could get him to lose track of his surroundings that way. idk, just feels... cheap, i guess? they could've even used the same creature just startling him & making him trip WITHOUT attacking him and i don't think i would've even blinked, but the fact that literally everything in this world wants our boy dead for no goddamn reason is starting to get a bit tiring to me...
To be fair that's a monster, it probably is strong enough to rip out a human's whole throat in one bite, and being invisible means hardly anyone can dodge it

This chapter was garbage. I remember him ninja-ing a pack of wolves while balancing on the limb of a tree. And now? He does nothing to the two dogs that grab his legs after defeating with no difficulty the first to lunge at him. And he noticed they were coming! The mangaka did a terrible job at depicting them as coming in too quick to be defeated the same as any other encounter. But even then, what's the point of this chapter? He's always struggled against the woods and learned from it, but now he's behaving loose and can be caught off-guard because...? No reason?
I owned a restaurant in New York during the pandemic. Those last few pages are so relatable.

Yesterday I was threatened into doing things I dont want to do. Today, I'm assaulted by some other unforseen thing. Then a bunch of little things start to hurt the business and screw everything up... riots, aggressive drug addicts, police who dont show up when you call... ouch. Thank God thats over, but I can't even think straight... oh good, here comes another wave of shutdowns. I have to layoff my entire team, again.
Damn, it must be pretty rough for some people that they felt the need to engage in an insurrection or do drugs. It's a good thing you never had to go through any of that. If being an owner is too rough, maybe it's time to throw in the towel and work one of those $5/hr plantation or construction jobs for Mexicans now that the ICE is clearing them out? If you work hard enough you could even lower the price of ingredients for restaurant owners in New York that they might not have to fire their workers ever again.
