Idk if that's really what he would have said, but my torn-up heart wants it to be that.

I think Shiina's take on wanting to die was on living life to the fullest and choosing to die upon reaching that peak, maybe with that peak being an emotional one with Kaname but the specifics are left to our imagination.

The ending is a really bittersweet one. Both Kaname and Shiina, Kanae too wtf, are alive. But Kaname is a husk, barely living in a dejected search for the one she loves. Maybe Shiina is sads in some way too but God knows what her goals are after this. Let's just hope they meet again, and for them to have an ending one way or another (*cries to sleep lmao)

Cuz she was smiling like a sun ... And the co-relation of sun smiling while someone died .... I kind of feel like she's dead.

Cuz after she remembered everything I think after dying only she can be so much happy


With that if kaname is also going to commit suiside in the last scene then again there we see the sun ... Also the butterfly was yellow

Like all this imagery with death being the way to escape or a good thing in this story from the start, I feel she died ...

well, I don't really get it. So the girl is alive or not? Like, she is alive, right? Or she just suicide somewhere so the main guy can live with hope ?

Haha I just read boy’s abyss a week before this, unironically it’s one of my fav mangas (even tho a lot of ppl didn’t like it) because of Yuri. Tbh it’s up there with chi no wadachi for me

No doubt Chi no Wadachi is the best depressing manga I've ever read. And my first impression for Boy's Abyss was the same, it's gonna be as good. But it just got way too convoluted, with unnecessary romance and love triangle.

Chi no Wadachi only focused on the relationship between a boy and her mother. Yakedo Shoujo also only focused on the relationship of the two main characters. Yeah, it also have love triangle, but it's very short so less annoying.

If you enjoyed a story about death and how we should feel about its presence in our lives, I also recommend Shi ni Aruki. the main character is another girl with a particular view of mortality

Guess Tsugumi meddling in death, burning out Shiina eye and raping Azama finally got what he deserved from the hands of Shiina

Glad that Kaede survived her suicide and it caused her to loose almost all memories, hope nothing will get back although her love to Kaname also was erased... Sadly she's basically a semi-vegtable/childish, not a good ending for her to be honest...

So it wasn't Rescuer Syndrome, but yuri... K... kinda explains why she didn't help Kaede, despite knowing well her being abused when she showed her bruised body.
Dislike her for not calling the cops about that, would save Kaede from commiting suicide...

Guess Shiina is lurking around, assisting suicide to all who seek death as she is a magnet for that.


Bittersweet ending.


Nice story, quite a lot splatter horror, family/parent issues and reason to die/live, good it tied most plotlines tho' we didn't really get to know why did Natsume leave Nazuna and didn't take Kaname with him, it wasn't just he stop loving her.

It wasn't Tsugumi, the third corpse is the guy Aizawa killed and had in her car's trunk.
