I think the second best part is how she never awkwardly started thinking about her late husband like she did every time they had a moment before. She finally moved on.

It would have had to be a whole new series. Yakumo-san Shippuuden so to speak. You know what im glad for this development bc normally we should have get this around chapter 150+ with the pacing manga had but author chose to finish it without even a love you which made that story wholesome slice of life instead of romance. For romance it needed a lot more chapters but since it got cut off like that im fine with this too at least we can fill the gaps between this chapter and before. Also when she started taking care of her back it become obvious that she wanted this. Probably the only downside is we didnt even see lewd handholding or a kiss, skipped all of that straigth to the time of dex...
Sad part, this had a lot of potential to continue i like slowburn romances but it wasnt even slowburn bc it couldnt reach to that point at that pacing for romance to start it could have been around chapter 100 and this dex scene around chapter 150 also i expected this kind of rushing at the end not with a special oneshot bc in the original ending nothing noteworthy about romance happened. Even after this they didnt get into her part of family, he didnt meet even his parents with yakumo, and then marriage maybe a kid for them too. Idk after 78 chapters, it still feels like there will be more chapters since all of them were build up (it was a nice paced build up too) developments here and there without forcing the situation. Anyway i yapped so much, thank you for the translations.
We got yakuma-san shippuden ending without yakumo-san shippuden. It would have had to be a whole new series. Yakumo-san Shippuuden so to speak.

These endings were seemingly EVERYWHERE in romcom mangas from the 2000s to the early 2010s. It never made sense to me and I thought the whole series became just a fat waste of time if the two MCs never got together in the end. Thankfully, most romcom endings now usually end with the MCs confessing their love and going out on a romantic wholesome note. Now it is worth reading. The author fully knew the fans of this story wanted to see them together. They waited chapter after chapter how the author will make that possible only to deliver that crappy "we're all happy friends here" ending... what a middle finger from his part... He could just had a simple "so... how's the marriage life with MC?" And everyone will be satisfied knowing they ended up together... What a shitty author.
