i didnt respond because someone else had already done so (directly under your post asking for examples), why is there any need to add even more? you ask for feedback and then you don't use it, don't paint me like the bad guy.

stop acting like a bitch just cause people have some standards when it comes to scanlations. if you don't want to improve your work, at least don't pretend like you do and then lash out when people keep correcting the same mistakes. what cringy behavior that is, yikes.

Wow. I'm amazed. Please look at the name you're responding to. You confused me with @BetterEnd. I'm not the TL of this manga. I'm just a bystander that gave advice to the TL on a few occasions.

I seriously doubt your reading comprehension skills, since there's no way to confuse what I wrote as something that the TL could've written. Please read it again.

stop acting like a bitch just cause people have some standards when it comes to scanlations. if people ask for feedback and then don't apply it, of course the same mistakes will get pointed out over and over again. you don't need a PhD in linguistics to follow the simple flowchart of

"does the word fit into the bubble?

yes? all good
no? check where the syllables are"

idk what your issue is, stop acting so high and mighty. i work as PR/QC for several scanteams and checking proper hyphenation is by far the lowest effort activity of them all. ESPECIALLY if the guy checking is doing TS at the same time.
Why are you lashing out my man?
the guy gave you constructive criticism on how to give constructive criticism and you couldn't handle that?

Listen dude I'm sure you genuinely wholeheartedly care about hyphenation
but unless someone else raises the issue I'm just gonna ignore you from now on

I see that instead of responding to my comment about your lack of reading comprehension, you tried to hide your blunder by editing the comment I was replying to.

Well, unfortunately for you, your original comment is included in my reply, so this just made you look disingenuous.

Apparently, I'm still "acting like a bitch" even in your edited comment, even though you meant that for the TL.

And apparently, the fact that I spent time taking screenshots and making easily-digestible constructive criticism means that I'm not part of this group of "people [that] have some standards when it comes to scanlations". Somehow.

Anyway, you claim that @BetterEnd asked for feedback but didn't apply it. When the whole point of my comment about your lack of examples is that he did, in fact, improve significantly since last chapter. Going from eight mistakes to just one. You do realise that's an 87.5% improvement, right? Unless your maths is as bad as your reading comprehension.

I'll agree with you there. Checking for proper hyphenation is easy. Just do it every time you need to break up words and you'll be fine.

I'm guessing that @BetterEnd only checks for words he's not confident in. And to be fair, I can see how ab-so-lute-ly could've appeared to be able to be split as absolu-tely, if you pronounce it as ab-so-lu-tly.

But yes, my advice is also to just check every time, @BetterEnd. Even if you're confident, if you've never checked a word, it's worth a shot making sure. That way, next time you encounter the same word, you'll have already learnt how to split it. I'm telling you to put more effort into learning, essentially.

idk what your issue is, stop acting so high and mighty.

Now for the crown jewel. I'm going to spell it out as clear as possible for you to understand what my "issue" is and why I'm "acting so high and mighty".

I'm giving you constructive criticism on how to give constructive criticism.

You've, repeatedly (1, 2, 3), told the TL about his failure to split words properly, but never once gave a single example.

Without examples, the TL can't rectify the errors he made because he can't even find them, having made them in the first place. Without examples, you're not giving constructive criticism, you're just complaining.

You also completely ignored my points about this chapter having improved compared to the previous one. An 87.5% improvement, as I mentioned.

You have to use references to reinforce your criticisms, lest they fall on deaf ears. Criticism without examples is not actionable, in this case. Which is why the TL asked you for examples, but you didn't respond.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say I simply responded before you could. But then you complained again in this chapter, giving no examples.

I personally went through it thoroughly, and found only one error. A single mistake. Which is what prompted me to respond to you. Does that single error warrant acting like the translation is full of errors? Because that's what your comment implies:

since you seem to still struggle with proper word separation, just send me the finished chapters before uploading them and i'll point out all the incorrectly separated words.

...OR you could just use the website i sent you before and check every word you need to separate while doing TS. it's really not that much work, considering it only affects words that need to be separated

https://syllablecounter.net/

You claim that "if people ask for feedback and then don't apply it, of course the same mistakes will get pointed out over and over again.", but you haven't pointed at a single mistake in all of your complaining.

If your goal was to be unhelpful, mission accomplished.

PS. And as to why I appear so "high and mighty" to you? Dunno. Maybe, it's because I write properly. Like an educated human being, even in casual conversations. Not resorting to initialisms like "idk" and capitalising words when appropriate. I don't do "chatspeak".
