I think it’s less of a “you’re asking for it dressed like that” but more of a “there are definitely creeps out there and they’re still going to be there whether you like it or not so it’s just a good idea to put yourself in less danger”Ahh yes, "wandering around with bare legs is dangerous."
Because people should just expect to get creeped on for wearing regular shorts out in public...
It's not like she went out wearing her underwear over a t-shirt or something dumb. That sort of "you're asking for it dressed like that" is crappy behavior even before considering he's her boyfriend.
I mean it's nice that he cares for her and all, but this is perilously close to some of the more overtly rapey justifications you see in some sketchier manga.
unfortunately really common in japan where women dont wear anything short or shows “a lot” of skin because there are a lot of creeps so its kind of expected for women to dress conservatively instead of men to stop saing womenAhh yes, "wandering around with bare legs is dangerous."

I was about to ask if this is only a common manga/anime trope or if it's actually a real thing in 2023 Japan? In either case, it's teaching men something awful from an early age and putting women in even more danger. That's kinda fucked any way you slice it... and it's always portrayed like women standing, sitting, just existing outside minding their own business (or even accidentally glancing) is apparently an invite for advances at best and sexual harassment/assault at worst.Ahh yes, "wandering around with bare legs is dangerous."

Creeps will still creep whether you're exposing some leg or completely covered.I think it’s less of a “you’re asking for it dressed like that” but more of a “there are definitely creeps out there and they’re still going to be there whether you like it or not so it’s just a good idea to put yourself in less danger”
Yes but said creeps are generally more creepy towards those dressed in their eyes “more provocatively” so while you are right in that there will be some that do it anyway it is still a better idea to mitigate as much danger as you canCreeps will still creep whether you're exposing some leg or completely covered.
