The whole Moribito series is 7 parts, the anime covers only the first part, and this manga covers the 2nd.

That is his plan but as pointed out, it wont work because they will be butchered by the Hyohlu and the last door will not open (as it will only open by defeating the Hyohlu) but this was Jiguro fault in a way, because he killed nearly every participant of the previous ceremonies and the current king did not participate in any ceremony they have no idea what the Hyohlu is capable off, its not going to be a invasion since they will never get into the gate let alone beyond it.
