That's only a rumor, iirc. Do web-published mangas even get a publisher? And it's not like doing sub-chapters continuously would save any manga from an axe anyway.
I mean... what? This is the Shonen Magazine link to said series (you can find it in the official section here)... which belongs to publishing company Kodansha.
Seems like you misunderstood "web-published"? It literally means what it says, nothing more and nothing less... The one doing the publishing can be a publisher company on said company's site (digital serialization), or self-published by author on places like Twitter/pixiv.

Uh, yeah, i probably confused self-published with web-published (also, i might have mixed up editor and publisher, ha-ha -_-' cause editor was brought up a lot at the time). My bad.
Still, i don't think there was any confirmation to this rumor.
