yeah i can see that. I'm of that same worldview as the other guy, though i guess that might have to do with me working at a place with a non-trivial barrier of entry for a vast majority of jobs, which acts as a pretty good filter for the asshole types since they're almost all not very smart (important to note that that does NOT mean the opposite is true as well), and the ones that ARE that smart are usually the narcissistic type so they tend to aim at much more prestigious positions (but those are only ever promoted-into rather than hired-into here, with those promotions also being conditional on being well-rated in annual anonymized "rate authority figures" surveys - meaning that "not an asshole" is quite literally a
hard requirement for promotion) - meaning that in practice, basically everyone around here is nice
