Honestly, that's the right phrasing here. She's rash, has very skewed perspective and is constantly trying to take shortcuts despite having plentiful chances to do it normally. I feel like her rejection has to be the moment she's forced to confront that her actions are a confusing mess and finally grow up.

The revision was already accomplished in the companion title when we got her POV on alla dat. TLDR of it all, she was just really clumsy about how she presented herself (in her head, anyway). Doesn't make it any better when Saotome only has her words and actions to go on, but it's not really that different from how, say, Nagatoro Hayase presented herself early on in that book.

Yeah the backstory makes it more clear what was actually going on... but still whats done (and been seen) can't be undone. But 100 agree here

I went and reread the first chapter (and the second which gave us Ushigome nipples), and shit was wild

It wasn't just a "oops you saw my panties and must pay hehe" deal

It was Takae and her friends (who never show up again), ambushing Saotome in the roof taking pictures of him looking at panties and threatening to ruin his social image to the point that no matter where he goes the stigma would follow him

And he would have to pay all of them a fee for panty looking, and then another fee for them to not spread the photos, it was straight out extortion

To now pass it as teasing is delusional from the author

Oh, it's actually even worst than that : in the third chapter of the spin-off series (read it here : https://mangadex.org/chapter/fbea85f3-e4b1-49c2-9e14-8d3374184d61/1) the author basically tried to completely retcon the situation and paint Takae as a forced accomplice of blackmailing Saotome with a geniune interest for the boy and a bit of a teasing side... !!

They probably realized that she was introduced as such a manipulative bitch, they literally had to change the entire context of the situation to try making her look like an actual decent person...

TOO BAD !!! We did NOT forgot her introduction and I don't care how the author tries to save it : she is the fakest of the bunch and barely worthy of being more than an acquaintance !! Fuck Takae and not in the way she would like Saotome to do her !!

If only this motherfucking author had named the manga after a very important character, one would say they could be a main character, or even one that supposedly workout with Hodaka most days, possibly having daily interactions with him... maybe, maybe then... author could have a history to follow. But I probably mistook this manga for another one about a JK delinquent
