I mean, she's cheating. Making your daughter fight 20 people so she can have a christmas party at the house is already insane.
Honestly, if the manga weren't meant to be slightly comedic, I'd call this vaguely manipulative and abusive. It's not a story you're meant to think that hard about though, so her mom is just 'a weirdo.'
