The story/romance was kinda going nowhere fast and not even in a SoL way so it's understandable but I feel like the could've fixed that by having the MC move to a whole new area, start a buisness, get isekai'd, or something like that.
There was only one volume which introduced the characters and the setting with "volume" 2 being a couple of quick fluff chapters. There was nothing to fix, because the story wasn't even given time to TRY going anywhere.
Whatever the reason, I feel like the reason the plot wasn't advancing wasn't the reason it was axed, but the opposite. I'd guess that it was getting axed, so the plot wasn't allowed to go anywhere.

I can understand an sudden end, the axe can happen to anyone after all, but the chapter was so nothing...? Why not make the last one more special in some way?

Anyway, thanks for the translation!

Damn, even for a manga that got axed that ending was a whole lot of nothing...

ANd why was axed? Very low in the popular ranking, FBI, the author will die the next week?

I can't honestly say I'm too heartbroken over this because on top of this being kind of a Nothing series in general, Yashiro is definitely One of the Protagonists of All Time
The author was clearly going for a "Maou-chan means well but lacks common sense so Yashiro has to teach her" angle but frankly Yashiro's common sense was that of a corporate slave who thinks her being trampled all over is the natural state of the world so it just felt like the manga was telling Maou-chan off for being dissatisfied with the absolutely horrible status quo
(Also, Yashiro's opinion on Maou-chan's true form is objectively incorrect, it was very cute)

COME OOOOOOOOOOOOOON, WHAT? I kind of understand it, but they have at least waited a little more to let it walk a little before the final decision...
I doubt it has something to do with Author-san health or they retiring (at the end it says they'll, probably, start a new work), so either the ones in charge decided to nuke it to dust or the author grown tired and decided to end it all and think in their next work...
Anyways, I hate it. I really hate it. I liked the art and characters. Story and comedy could have been better but it wasn't that bad either. I hate it-

Japan showing their masterwork skills of making disappointing endings again.
