That's just another rumor without context among the students though. If she was guilty, i'm sure as hell teachers would hand her over immidiately considering how they treat her. I still think its just a made up premise so that story can happen.

Ah that’s very true ^^^. But I think we should also consider the cultural difference in Japan. There are so many stories about the complacency of Japanese teachers to bullying (that’s another reason why the suicide rate in Japan is high for students). Mitsuki is a poor student with a longstanding ‘bad’ reputation. The rich ‘respectable’ kids at her school have a bad opinion about her and everyday they gossip and create new rumors. Theyre always going to side with the rich influential kids. Being outside late at night, having the police called on her, and being expressionless are just nails to the coffin they made for her. The teachers aren’t a plot device, it’s a similar reality to some kids now.
