That was some remarkably sloppy detective work there. They were able to predict when the next attack was... and they sent one person who was unprepared for a ghost, even though they knew it might be a ghost, even going so far as to discuss the possibility among themselves?

Almost makes me feel like that bride died for nothing.

@Icekatze I was taken aback by the bride being killed too - and no one even mentioned regret about it back in the office. Kinda callous.

@icekatze They didn't predict when that attack would happen, they spread out their people to multiple weddings in the hope that one of them would discover the culprit.

How many high class weddings are they having each day in this place? 🤣

Statistically speaking, you'll see roughly one wedding per day for every 66,000 people, across all social classes. Depending on what you consider high class, that would be between 0.01% of the population (1700s Germany) and 7% (1700s Spain). Pre-industrial Seoul would have had between 100,000 and 180,000 people. So, about 1 to 3 weddings per day total.

Looking at only the upper class, worst case scenario that's 1 wedding every 4-5 days.

@icekatze Thing is though, they mentioned the cases are spread out over a larger area, they are not confined to the capital alone.
So not only do that increase the number of weddings they would have to keep track of, but they would have to factor in the time to get to all of them.
Also you can't just go with averages for things like this, you have to factor in that they likely have superstitions about certain dates being better for weddings than others.

It's still within a distance that is traversable by a human. And also, if that's the case, how did they manage to narrow it down to a single upcoming wedding that is explicitly on an auspicious date?

Well, it's a confusing setup at the very least.
