Wow, the heartbeat with the touching moment, then she is overcome by... Thirst? So the human that a vampire actually falls in love with dies because they end up devouring their everything in a fit of passion? Didn't a chapter a little while ago end with a heartbeat, too? MC might be in just as much danger as his friend

People are reading too much into the last pages of the chapter.

Vampires don't have heartbeats, so the fact she felt one means that she is finally becoming human, and is ecstatic that her dream is finally becoming true after so many years. She was worried about not actually being in love, but now she knows.

I have really hard time believing grown-up person, let alone vampire who lived for hundreds of years could not only fall in love with middle school boy, but even find him at least a bit interesting or attractive personality vise. And we are not talking about just hebephilia and sexual attraction or mother instinct etc, but real love to human as person. Has author ever talked to 14 y.o. children?

It could work for Nazuna, who seems like somehow mentally stuck at her teens (though I dont know how it's possible cause personality will develop with time and experience, but ok), but Kiku is mature woman, considering her past probably more experienced than any human woman in the world. So how the fuck she can fall in love with child? Well it's obviously author has a thing for "mature woman - young teen boy", and it's ok as fanservice but when it's crucial plot-point, yeah no, it's bullshit.

And funny thing, that Kiku said that elementary schoolboy isn't suitable for her, but apparently middleschooler is ok. Really now?

I'm pretty sure Nazuna has some sort of stunted mental growth or something, so that kinda makes sense. But yeah, I can't really believe Kiku is really falling in love with Mahiru. It kinda makes no sense.

I honestly agree and what gets me is that it never seems to come up. Like you could make Mahiru and Kou 16 or 17 and still have the December may romance and it would change nothing. I don't get why they're soooo young. Kou is pretty mature for his age and Mahiru could pass for a college student with how he's drawn. It bugs me.

I deadass just blur out the 14 year old in my head and replace it with 18. Makes the manga feel a less weird

Just because you guys had no maturity or depth as 14yos doesn't apply it to the world. At 14 I was an adult in all ways except physical.

Like some of y'all seem dumb as hell and completely sheltered. Go to the trenches there are 14yos dealing with problems that are generations deep, having to be soldiers and businessmen at the same time and live with a knowledge of dog-eat-dog as well as sharing bread while also being smooth and not crashing out or getting booked.

True but we are not living in that age, and by today standard, I think it would make more senses for them to be in high school(not really just nowadays though). They also doesnt look like middle schooler at all so it feels kinda weird bruh.
