Honestly this manga is doing a great job at portraying how awful men are in general (even when doing something they think its good)
That said i'll drop this if Rai becomes the love interest or it gets "rapey" because shoujos/joseis have this NEED to make everything rapey

I’m REALLY hoping that was a genuine misunderstanding because I really want her and even her mom to have a win. Most of the older men in this series are portrayed as scumbags and I hope the FL can realize some men (aside from the trio) are genuine good guys.

Even within the trio I'm very much on the fence in considering them "good". Main dude wouldn't have bothered to do anything if he wasn't "interested" in her(which need I remind started because he thought her eating food off the ground was funny) and his methods have been purely extra-legal and questionable. Love interest guy was an asshole right up until he wanted to fuck her, at which point his entire personality flipped. Other dude was the only one who has done anything genuine towards her and that was giving her those onigiri. None of the trio are overtly evil but the two we've seen more developed are at the very least acting morally questionable at times.
But also literally every character in this has been a monotone trope of a shitty character so far, I doubt we'll be getting any reasonable result to this.

This got so real, like...damn. If the author has the balls to take the next step with this and doesn't just chicken out with saying "oh he's actually sweet, it was a misunderstanding, she can trust men besides her new friends now!" this could be such an amazingly complex story. Dark, but realistic and important to teach to young girls reading this manga who may be going through the same thing. Who knows. I personally want them to have the courage to go all the way with this potential plot, but it has been a fluffy shoujo manga thus far. Excited for the next chapter nonetheless!
