The "eastern metropolis" Musashino intrigues me. Musashino is a city in the Tokyo Metropolis, and 東京 (Toukyou) means "eastern capital", in reference to it being east of the previous capital 京都 (Kyouto), the "capital metropolis". Given that Alpha's cafe is near Yokohama, a city very near to Tokyo, the fact that it's now considered far away is telling.
