I guess you can put it that way. I definitely do think that it is the more proper way to read most "book-style" series.
It is also the main reason for why I'm able to pick up on so many missing pages in random manga chapters over the years.

I wish more people read jp manga in double paged mode, sometimes there are subtle details that you would only notice otherwise. 😔
