I hate both sides reasoning. Girls should be able to wear whatever the hell they want, conversely guys should be able to look wherever the hell they want. That said I do not get the Japanese obsession with panties, you'd think they'd lose their minds if they ever saw a bikini at the beach with the way white panties are portrayed in manga. I just don't get it's white, blank, uninteresting with no design, yet all the boys in manga want a glimpse, honestly, I thought the whole trope was widespread among mangaka for one single reason. "It's easy to draw, it takes up a couple of panels."
