The mangaka really pissed me off with that stupid gag horse golem at the end. Pg23 has a realistic horse skeleton (made of titanium), but suddenly at the end there's a 6 legged horse golem with 360 rotation on all legs, and they just flail about.

I'd have loved the gag if there hadn't been any reference to realistic horse anatomy beforehand.

Greater stability. With 4 legs you have to actively balance, while with 6 legs you can have 3 legs on the ground all the time.
Like the All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, in Star Wars.
(Disclaimer: I did not read further yet, so I don't know yet, how the manga handles the horse in the future.)

Good point. Instead of pulling the cart, she should be able to turn the axles and/or wheels directly.
Maybe she thinks an imitation of a horse would look less alien.
