Is the MC depressed? Like I feel like he is the most passive MC ever. I don't know why he wants to avoid a confrontation with the Noble/Guild so much that he is willing to take shit thrown at him all the time. He is pretty powerful and has many powerful allies - why doesn't he take some "active" steps.

Thank you for keeping up with the translations. I appreciate your effort to make this work possible for us to read. Don’t worry about the pace of your translating the chapters.

It is just hard to mentally see why in these stories there is such a focus on handy caping people. If it comes from the fact that in real life sometimes your efforts do not get noticed then ok but almost always if you make something people use or want you get promoted or have a small business. This trend is so boring.
Yes but unfortunately true. The nail that sticks out gets hammered, after all. And bureaucratic inertia is always present whenever there’s any form of organization.

thank you , exactly what i needed, its not what I like to happen in manga, at least i know i wont waste too much time and investment on this manga, i wont drop it, ill prob read it after it catches up with raws

reading the spoiler, and other spoilers from different chapters, exactly the trope i hate af , mc really is spineless doormat, even worse than avalon
Hmm. The spoiler that was given to you was fairly very short.

There's something to keep in mind. The MC mainly doesn't want to go out and be a hero, adventure, save the world or all that. He basically just wants to enjoy his life in peace. The issue is that he's too strong and stands out too much, and with him acting kindly towards others, things starts to have a domino effect around him.

In short, he keeps being betrayed by circumstances. Mainly emergencies. Things around him escalate, causing the necessity for his assistance to continue which causes people who had promised to keep his secret to spill the beans as a means of trying to get assistance for him, or from him. This leads to the guy who stole his power to come by and while the MC wants to beat the crap out of him, he can't because it puts himself and others in harms way.

He does eventually get a chance to have a duel in which he does basically de-nut the thief and implant some deep seeded trauma into a guy who is efffectively a nigh-unstoppable hero and does cause his name to be tarnished. It is difficult to punish the thief though because of the fact that he has two cheat powers, but they do manage to punish him in some way, primarily because of the threats to all he holds dear which includes his own pride at wanting to be the hero who did nothing wrong.

The MC does ditch, in part because the place he's at has effectively been filled with those who betrayed his secret even with the best of intentions, that includes an entire clan of people that if I remember correctly basically had their elven elder, I honestly forget, make a spiritual soul unison marriage thingy that is the greatest of promise they can make and even that person broke the promise of secreccy out of the urgency to save the MC from a dire circumstance.

Ultimately he ditches after piled on trauma in part because the thief hero continues to make his life miserable and the thief hero only gets his punishment once the MC has left. That said though, the current big mommy titan woman Iraida here basically becomes the potential main heroine. She naturally gets along with the MC, respects him deeply, I think she might be the only one who actually kept her promise of secrecy to the very end with the MC. And she joins up with him on his trip overseas, so she's part of the current party. And I stopped reading at around the bat woman widow slave part, mostly due to no additional translated chapters at that point in time. Honestly I forgot this story existed until this update.

Thank you for the better run-down spoilers, EXACTLY what I wanna try to avoid cuz I see too many of these plot tropes everywhere already and I dont even like it in the first place

MC is betrayed by some sort of way
Things gets better by his own effort but he refuse to stand out and reveal his power/strength/better quality
keep getting screwed by his nemesis
refuse to end it once and for all
have this ping pong chase with the said nemesis until the nemesis royally screwed MC and EVEN then , the said nemesis never gets punished by death, just to live to get elbow slap which is liveable with his current status
and it ends up some readers complain and translation for LN/WN slowed down or stopped due to dropping in popularity

I really do love this story. We have fags like Hayato who steal and kill, racist fascists like our noble heir over here, cute snow leopards like Yukishiro and a lovely companion like Iraida. What a great story, so well written with a protagonist grappling with his life’s challenges all to survive and make it to another day.

He has to kill these birds "without damage to the tree". That is the key phrase in the contract. He could kill every single one of the birds, take the beaks to turn in the quest. And then while he's not there, that one asshole could have his men damage the tree. Then they can falsely claim that he failed the quest, because the tree is damaged.

The only way around this, is after he kills all of the birds and goes to turn in the quest, the giant lady needs to guard the tree from sabotage. At least until he turns in the quest. But no one would think like that. I'm just paranoid after reading enough stories of assholes cheating the system and screwing over main characters.

I hate the way they are using the "letter of the law" to fuck him over, while pissing all over the "spirit of the law." Believable and realistic. But I hate it.

In a point of here and not, we will still wait for it.
I just think our MC is a bit tired of everything, but in kinda a good way if it makes sense.
