That was an adventure. I really liked it, but the ending was a bit unsatisfying. Like, I know what was going on, but after all that mystery and intrigue and confusion, it would've been nice to have had it all laid out in front of me and stated directly. Also, we get practically no time of
them together as a couple, especially since we found out it really wasn't Kageyama that whole time.
(spoils the whole mystery, proceed with caution)

(Warning, following spoilers would seriously ruin the plot)
My thought was that the author probably didn't go back and lay things out for us neatly because they wanted to leave it slightly open to interpretation, as to whether or not Kageyama's coma-ghost was flitting around possessing people and doing poltergeist-y things, rather than the more likely explanation, which is that a few people going a wee bit crazy in their grief.

Well, everyone's coming out of this traumatized in one way or another, huh...? ~w~

@Pokari Hm, you're probably right. Honestly, I'm not sure I ever seriously considered the more logical explanation, since I was already in fiction mode in my mind.
It was a pretty traumatizing affair all around. Seeing as Kageyama lost a finger, it would be pretty fair to say he pulled the shortest suffering stick; but on the other hand, the other characters spent most of the story thinking they had lost a loved one and feeling like they were going insane while Kageyama (theoretically) got to just sleep through it. And the younger brother sleeping with a stranger he shouldn't have even been attracted to must have been quite unsettling for him...

Yup, I think things would probably be a little awkward between all three of them for a while. "Sorry, I didn't mean to sleep with your brother!"

Actually, upon reading how you frame it, it occurs to me that it's not at all clear to me what the brother actually thought about his brother's sexuality. We know he was sneering about it and being provocative, but we don't know why.

It's possible he was straightforwardly revolted, and trying to cope with the fact that he never came to terms with it. Or, it's possible he already knows he's also gay(/bi/whatever), but has doubts about himself and is projecting that onto his more openly gay brother, or else maybe he's upset because his brother went off to be gay and now he feels he has to be the "normal" one.

Hell, maybe he's just jealous—if Kageyama partially cut ties with his family, it could be frustrating to meet the people he stuck with instead. Or, he could even be drowning in rage at how the world treated his brother, and by testing Hiura with provocations, trying to get the world to show its true ugly colours, so he can stay swaddled in loathing rather than face whatever feelings threaten to overtake him if he stops and stands still.

Well, to some extent I get that this has to be ambiguous to allow the other mysteries and ambiguities, but still.
