It's pointless for now, but I imagine it'll come into play later.
If it'll even come to that point. Excessive world building in a romcom manga isn't desirable, since people come for this type of manga for a reason - well, romance. Overcooking may lead to some major disappointments, since no matter how successful or recognizable name is, if the plot is too sluggish, ruthless manga industry won't hesitate a second to cut you off (yes, I'm looking at you Aka Akasaka).
I don't know what's author cooking here, but compared to his last title, relation between MCs is progressing kinda slow. In 365 Days at chapter 9 we were already at full speed with story, we had some information about both MCs and something was sparking between them already. Here at chapter 9 (yes, raws are on chapter 9), well... You will see.
I'm not saying, that this manga doesn't have potential and that author won't make something amazing from it (I really hope they will, cause I love their art), but I'm a little concerned about it's future.
