If your time isn't really required, has a small scale impact or is easily replaceable, can you really say it's valuable? At the end of the day, work is about realizing your own worth and negotiating the best terms for it. If you're not able to do that, then unfortunately your time will not be worth remotely as much as other people's
Guess all this talk about people being valuable for just being alive is just lip service then, huh?

who'd a thunk that the manga about PTSD chain-smoking aunt would've inspired me to stop lazying around lel (p.s. not saying it's cool that Takanashi just feels afraid of being laid off and stuff; all this talk about work and avoidance just got me reflective dats all)

Don't put words in my mouth. I never said it's people who are valuable. It's their time. Or rather the value people generate by using that time. Economy is nothing but a wheel where we generate value because it's perceived as such by others so that we can consume the value others generate for us. There's nothing inherently bad about any of it
