I'm not saying it's A Thing, but it's a little interesting that we have an ostensibly gay mage introduced for the first(?) time and then he gets killed on his like, third appearance, lmao

chars are obv going to die in a series like this, but it's a little sussy for half the guy's lines to be about finding other men attractive and then immediately dying

i'd agree, but they've been doing this a lot with Troubadour, Old Man, now Dame Bradford where they introduce a named mage and just kill them off immediately. My understanding is that all these characters are original to the manga (weren't in the source material) and so can't be allowed to stick around and affect the plot.

Well at least Troubadour and Old Man had some significant screen time. The Gay Officer included.

I'm more bummed that they made the effort to design a neat female officer from an opposing nation only to make her live and die in 2 pages. Dame Bradford is really cute man.
