I mostly like this manga but . . . Why is it so predictable that a high school student who's an apprentice magician will encounter a magical problem AT THEIR HIGH SCHOOL. Do Japanese high schools just store up these problems to release when an appropriate student comes along? Or does the presence of a magical student stir up latent problems, bringing them to a head?

Either way in deserves a better explanation than "All school life manga are like that."
