Re reading this after the latest chapter (in yohaji) made me realise something.

Ebisu doesn't like Toubyou because he is jealous.

Toubyou spends every day with Kurahashi. They share a dorm room together. They are classmates. They play basketball together.

And Ebisu doesn't like that.
