Slim but a good twist would be that the princess is in fact a girl and the reason of the "purge" of nobles would be all who can object that a girl sit on the throne. And the princess plans would be after becoming emperor securing princess Nigel to become first empress.

she's a homunculus created by the ML's mother to spy on/be his friend (she has some of ML's dna, that's why they look similar). She betrays/tries to kill him later on

I'm usually not the type of reader eager to spoil, but a lot of people are dismissing this story because of the Ml. Just wanted people to know that the Ml isn't a crazy murdering psychopath. He's an asshole, but not the 'behead wife on the first night for the lols' type

I like how this goes to talk about the unfairness of the class system with nobles and commoners. However, the thing about commoners is that when you try to trample on them, sooner or later, they will bite back. When times really hit hard, the commoners will become so desperate that they will fight and kill even the nobles. Nobles should always fear the day when the commoners will bare their fangs at them.

I really can't understand the MCs thought process here even though the author has been painstakingly walking us through it. I just can't follow her leaps in logic. What possible use is there in getting in the good graces of an empress who is murdered by the emporer the day that they got married? Shouldn't it be obvious from the fact that, oh, I don't know, he fucking murdered her that Tori is not the prince's friend? In fact, if we were to put on our Sherlock Holmes hats for a second, we might even be able to follow the trail of clues and deduce that Tori is the prince's enemy! Since, you know, he killed her? Seems like getting close to a known enemy of the prince wouldn't be helpful to the 'make friends with the prince' plan in the long run, but maybe that's just me?!
