What are some of your school's legends and mysteries? I got this idea from reading too many school life mangos where it's a common trope to say that there are 7 school mysteries. They don't have to be 7 or anything, it could be something creepy and scary or something dumb and funny. I'll start.

At my elementary school, there was a door to a closet that was said it contained a corpse, some even said that they slipped a note through the floor and it was returned with red stains, it probably was just a janitor's closet, but it still was a pretty fun story

I remember in my second elementary school I befriended a few odd people, and we would coerce each other into believing supernatural stories related to the building and its surroundings. The guy had a gloomy face, and would narrate tales about his south american relative, and the black magick products he had bought there. But the other two girls liked the "right hand story"best, and that one has stayed with me throughout the years. It tells of a young girl born with a strange curse: her old arm would move without the consent of its owner. In the beginning, it were only small acts of mischief that the arm perpetrated: a broken chair, or a slap in the cheek. But as time went on, and grew bigger as the child did, the bad deeds grew out of size too. In little time, it could even try to kill her own family, the girl understood. An end had to be put to her own rebellious limb... one afternoon, she decided to sever her own arm, and carried out the deed, to throw it into the bin. What she couldn't see, as she ran away back home, was her own arm, now free, running to hide...
It may not be specifically related to my school, and for that I apologize, but my memories of the story are totally tied to my years there. I was a worryingly impressionable child, so it must have scarred me. Eventually, we all sadly grew out of those stories we knew to be false but fascinating nonetheless.
The other horror story I can remember, which haunts me to this day, is an anecdote I overheard which said the roof's white powder could cause us cancer in the future. Never looked into it, though.

This one's really not a school mystery - rather just a mystery involving my grade at school.

In this particular school, I studied there since I was a sixth grader. In the whole grade, there was one silent girl.

Typically, always having her head down. She was so frail looking. She was thin, short, always sitting by the corner, usually also covering her face with her hair (by looking down most of the time) — at least that's what I've heard. We weren't really classmates at that time.

Everyone called her a "Walking Stick/Pencil" (her surname meant "Pencil" in my language) and no one really... gave her attention in a good way.

Fast forward to ninth grade, we were classmates. Of course, it was a different time then. Sure, there were bullies, but people have matured, at least some. It was by luck that she was assigned in our class.

Everyone tolerated her behavior since she wasn't doing anything wrong, really.

The only annoying part was that she was literally useless in presentations, group activities, etc.

Everyone was patient with her. Many of my classmates (who can actually think) defended her for having social anxiety — which, true, was acceptable.

Until tenth grade happened.

She always stared off somewhere. And we thought, oh, maybe she's just, you know, being her?

Well, not really the case. Days passed and she began looking at other people intently. She stared at me often - that's not me assuming, because everyone could tell. Most people thought she was into my boyfriend — which I would not be surprised with, considering how she was always beside him in group activites and stuff (I don't blame her, he was kind of gentler compared to other boys, but he was irritated, he openly told me).

One day, while I entered the comfort room, the girls of our class started gossiping. They called me to talk with them.

"Hey, d'you know what <Name> did earlier? God, it was so freaky!"

I was confused. The three girls I was talking to were nice, and they were actually one of the few people who were sticking up to her.

I wondered what she did that made them so pissed off. I asked why, and they told me what she was doing.

She took photos of them.

There was a school festival, so of course we weren't in our rooms, and they said she just randomly - trying so hard to be secretively taking pictures of them.

One of them made an excuse, as they told me, that they were going to drink from the fountain. She checked her phone on the way, and she saw multiple photos of other people in her gallery. Most of the class included, and no, not class pictures. Random, stolen photos.

She was sending these photos to a group chat (I think it was named "My Buddies" or whatever) claiming everyone was her friend.

It was weird as hell. This news obviously spread like virus in the entire tenth grade. I think it was only her who never heard of it.

Anyway, suddenly, one day, she started spamming in group chats (usually our class') and she was actually being noisy.

She trash-talked teachers, students, acted like she was a boss. She suddenly was acting like she's a new person. In fact, she was trying so hard to the point that even the last person who defended her social anxiety issues since they were like - 5th grade - gave up on her.

One of my closest friends, who she was actually talking to before all this matter, got so pissed off at her because she was talking shit of everyone and bossing us around.

She was a quiet, shy girl since elementary, that's for sure. One day, she became this loud-mouthed, obnoxious creep who took photos of everyone, secretly listened to conversations, became rude in all her glory — it was like a different person.

It puzzles everyone how she's like that online, and in real life, she acts like nothing happened. She isn't so "gloomy" anymore, last time we knew of, but since it's quarantine and all that, now she's being a jerk to everyone again.

Some students manned up and asked her family about her. It got so worse to the point that teachers kicked her out of the group chats and reported her (since technically school year isn't over yet) because of her attitude.

It's not a big mystery on the outside, but if you think of it, this girl has been silent as fuck for YEARS, and now she's making a ruckus.

At first we were happy she was now communicating, but it got worse, and worse, and worse.

In the first place, no one knew why she became like this.

We all wondered why.

@aoirei

I did not expect this type of story, it's really interesting, i wish i could have been you classmate to witness it myself. The girl probably has some mental issues, but i don't know what could have happened in her enviroment that caused her to change in such a dramatic fashion.

In my last semester of high school I got literally the only highest single dorm in my school building (so the building was so weird in design bcs at the beginning it was a small building surrounded by houses and it keeps receiving more student every year so it's getting more floor with too forcing design). From what I heard from upperclassmen and my friends who had been gone to the school from their junior high, that room was one of the scariest dorm inside the building bcs someone had seen a ghost in it (even my friend in a same year had seen one at the hallway).
I'm just telling that I'm easy to get scared of a real ghost experience story of a place that I'm sleeping in and I was behind the reason for the turned on lamp at night ugh I still feel sorry for my disturbed dormmate
So we sometimes hear knocks on the wall from the outside and wondering where it came from since I've described the room. Ok for this one I still can bear it and not getting scared since I don't see any physical form or strange human noise. But you know, the worst part is when the electricity went down and you're woken up bcs of the hot temperature and hearing those knocks... I can only cover my feet with blanket even though it felt hot and keep praying 'till I can sleep again
or making a little noise so my friend would get up and I didn't feel scared anymore... sorry again my friends :'(

Sorry if I made any mistake in grammar

@aoirei Undeniably scary. There have been times in my life when I've also behaved embarrasingly bad, even as an adult, to the point the guilt never seems to wear off. In my case, I got so tired of people, and of my clumsy attempts to fit, I flipped and started actively being a nuisance to everyone. While you think you're in control and can process all of your actions, the truth is you have lost it. You have let your subconscious free, satisfying all of its reppressed resentment... well, anyway, let's hope it doesn't get too bad for her. The guilt always comes after.

Who embezzled the money that was meant to renovate the school.

Students were coerced to buy laptops that were more expensive than outside and was the only school approved type.

The emergency science lab showers had no drains. Light switches were at the opposite end of room to the door. The doors scraped along the ground.
The covered corridors leak rain. The disability friendly elevator (no students allowed) constantly stopped working with people inside (atleast the emergency alarms worked). The entire roof of a building blew off in a heavy storm which also dismantled the bell system that took 3/4 of a year to fix.

But atleast they brought equality to the gender gap. One of the female bathrooms that was double the size of the Mens next to it got shrunk down to make a sports shed.

There was this school I worked at that had a strange little superstition. It's not too uncommon for old boarding schools in my country to get renovated into public ones, and often the old school chapels will get refurbished into indoor gyms in the process. This particular school's gym still had a massive biblical fresco on its (very tall) ceiling. Somehow over the years a legend had built up that if you could hit the Virgin Mary's face in a single hit with a ball you'd get good luck (usually in matters of romance). It seemed a bit counter-intuitive, if not slightly blasphemous, to be honest.

Please tell me that there's a rumor that if you hit Jesus's face at the sixth station, his face gets imprinted onto the ball @Pantsman

At my elementary school, there was some kind of mini-park near one entrance with lion statues and whatnot. There were prop slides that you can't get on because of vegetation and they converged at the very top with a statue of three girls holding hands and forming a circle. It was said that at night, the statues come to life and they haunt the school grounds. One time my parents forgot to take me home, and it was pretty late so I waited outside my classroom and was crying and scared shitless for I might get eaten or something
Another is at a corner of our school, there's a blue passageway that, whenever I go to see it, is always locked. It also had a vandalism of what I vaguely recall is something among the lines of "open this and you will die". After a few years there I realized that it's just a normal way out because one of my friends go through there (in my defense, the school is very spacious and has two dedicated entrances/exits, and I have not once gone there other than during breaks)
Lastly is the abandoned playground. Near the blue doorway, if you look left you'll see rusty playground items. To get there, you must pass through this unused building (which, if I recall, is now used as a library) through the small gap near the left that could only be passed through by slender grade schoolers. So a bunch o our prepubescent minds went there and played a bit. Then suddenly the swing (which was missing seats, so no one is using) suddenly creaked, loudly. It may be just rusty but damn were we spooked. We tried to get out quickly but crawling through gaps between two buildings isn't really safe, and considering we were like worms squeezing each other, we got a lot of rashes and scratches that day.

I studied at this Catholic school from preschool all the way till high school, and the one question that has plagued everyone, both us veterans and transfer students all those years, was....why was it only the preschoolers that had air-conditioned classrooms? Wasn't really a matter of money (it was a private school after all). Though as it turns out every classroom got air-conditioning literally right after our batch graduated. Shit, maybe they were waiting for us to graduate.
