I learned Portuguese to read the rest of the chapters so I can tell you. The progress is slow, but there are barely any time skips so it feels more natural and not forced.
In the latest chapters they're already in 3rd year summer camp again and mc made progress and not just with Sensei.

Thanks for the clarification, harem was the route hinted since this early, it’s just that i dont know if the TL team has the patience to translate this manga for the next 5 years to just catch up to volume 18!

Even tho they're a couple of "harem themed" chapters Abikura main focus is Sensei, but that doesn't stop the others from trying.
