One of the problems often cited with Maxx C is that the player who goes first and does their combo that gives them a million points of interaction like you see here ALSO has the potential to add Maxx C on top of it, which can draw them into even more disruption from other hand traps and/or plenty more combo pieces to rebuild if they survive to turn 3....I'm sorry, but with all them negates and junk and folks complain about that cockroach card?
the issue is when those negates BACKED by maxx C, which you can't even stop it. modern board breaker are strong and designed to deal such a field, but impossible with addition of cards drawn by maxx c. mullcharmy was healtheir....I'm sorry, but with all them negates and junk and folks complain about that cockroach card?

So it's broken because it goes ON TOP of the outright broken state of the game...OK, thanks. Every time I ask, people just go back to "it's OP" or some such while just be fine with the game with all the OP stuff...the issue is when those negates BACKED by maxx C, which you can't even stop it. modern board breaker are strong and designed to deal such a field, but impossible with addition of cards drawn by maxx c. mullcharmy was healtheir.
Yep, alternatively, if the person going second starts with Maxx C on hand, and the person going first has no handtrap response to it, then there are 2 possibilites:So it's broken because it goes ON TOP of the outright broken state of the game...OK, thanks. There is also a third option where the person going first does a shorter combo that ends on fewer points of interaction to give their opponent fewer cards, but that still puts them at a disadvantage unless they have other hand traps that couldn't have stopped Maxx C. Potentially including their own Maxx C.Yep, alternatively, if the person going second starts with Maxx C on hand, and the person going first has no handtrap response to it, then there are 2 possibilites:
A) Person going first continues their combo as normal: taking this duel as example, Souta would've started their turn with over 15 cards in their hand already (if I counted right), so they would've most likely had no problem clearing the board (or even stop it the turn before by drawing hand traps) and completing their combo, with otk potential.
B) Person going first stops their combo: then they'll just leave their field basically empty, so now game state would basically be like if the player going second was going first, butt they start with 1+ more cards (draw phase and a Maxx C if chained) and can attack (with again, otk potential).
So yeah, this is why Maxx C is op and a problem, single card tends to decide the whole outcome of the game.
You literally just watched him break the board consisting of "all them negates and junk". Not to mention that board of negates could easily have just activate Maxx C in draw phase....I'm sorry, but with all them negates and junk and folks complain about that cockroach card?
