Yes, it is frustrating to lose. Especially when you lose all the time because you don't have the damn gems to spend on packs or you not super lucky to get what you want so you're stuck waiting for that guy who waste your time playing with himself and if you look away for just a few seconds, the game thinks you throw the game.

Thanks for the translation!!

I hope Shouma can recover from this, since it really hurts to see someone lose the fun in something they love just because they want to engage with it more deeply. It is really hard to blame him in this kind of situation though, when the easiest reason to point to for a loss was a random chance that was the least likely option he wanted to avoid. There's not a lot of self-reflection or constructive thought you can put into the duel afterwards when you're blinded by a feeling of helplessness.

today I learned that pendulum on the p scale isn't treated as pendulum monster so clown crew hat tributed effect isn't spinning them back into the deck.

damnit I got confused for a sec when the scale just stay on the field.

Yeah Hat shuffles "Pendulum Monsters," with "Monsters" being the operative word here. Pendulums in the Pendulum Zone are treated as Spells. It would be different if Hat shuffled "Pendulum Monster Cards" which would look at the actual card type and not what sort of game object it is. Consider how Raigeki won't hit monsters treated as backrow by effects like Snake-Eye or Centur-Ion stuff.

Game for lawyers after all.

bro has 2 pot of forbidden in his fucking list

jesus fuck lol

Shouma don't be discourage, you just got high roll by the fucking RNG. Also, doesn't help that you keep chaining to the Enneacrafts. That's the one thing you should never do, just let them do their stuff, and never let the big guy flip up.

The frustration is real but it comes from love for the game. You'll bounce back

Shouma lost because bad deck construction. Not enough hand trap.
Aside from Droll, hand traps are dogwater against Enneacraft. Fuwa, Nib, Ghost Belle, Imperm, Impulse, and Veiler all straight up do nothing against this deck, and Ash almost never matters (and is just a straight up liability if they open orgIA). Literally the only ones that do anything are Ghost Ogre which is niche, Purulia which most decks can play under, and Maxx C, which beats every deck. And Clown Crew also can't play Droll because they absolutely need to add cards to their hand during the opponent's turn.

Additionally, Clown Crew tends to not play hand traps really. It's a breaker deck (albeit, he is on nowhere near enough of those either), leveraging cards like Forbidden Crown, Droplet, Fallen and Virtuous, and Super Poly to deal with boards due to Matinee's ability to draw and set in End Phase. The most successful variant of this deck, Clown Crew Mitsu, only plays 1 hand trap, in D-Shifter, which actually does nothing against Enneacraft.

"Who the hell plays two pot of the forbidden?!"

I feel this. the other day I got done in by a guy running 3 Deus X Crawler. I cleared the first one and then ran face first into the second one. Losing is already frustrating, but losing to Enneacraft on some stupid tech card feels a billion times worse.

I agree on the bad deck construction, but not on the hand trap part

Clown crew has insane potential to run really good floodgates/control/otk strategies, and to run 3 of every clown crew card is simply just a waste of deck space that could be used to substitute for something that could profit off the drawing/control clown crew brings to the table. I honestly don’t know why the creator doesn’t want to run something like clown crew exodia, with bringing exodia on a deck made for drawing and control just make sense. Even if he doesn’t want to run floodgates for “toxic reasons” just run clown crew exodia to also show players how certain strategies for decks can merely revolve around just getting 5 cards instead of aiming to otk your opponent.

I’ve run clown crew decks against plenty of enneacraft in my locals, usually clown crew Ra or clown crew vanity’s fiend, and I can say that enneacraft is not a deck you can beat by pure brute strength. You do have to run something nasty, as even if you run gravity collapse that uses the clown synchro you summon using matinee, enneacraft can still play to a certain extent.

The animation doesn't play because Reverth flip the card up, not flip summon it. Yeah, weird because while they are the same action, it is tagged differently.
