oh dang the newish Gishki cards. I remember when they came out I got all the old cards in preparation and then just before new cards came out they banned elf which the new support was designed around and killed the deck. It was a good lesson to learn.

No "Heart of the cards" moment for Shiori-chan:( I love how relatable this manga can be sometimes.

Thank you for the translation, and keep up the good work! Don't worry about the mistakes, YGO is a complex game with crazy amount of cards afterall.

This manga just skipped over the Gishki combos because they know nobody wants to see the play by play. I remember the earlier chapters showing basically every game action you'd take to perform some of the combos, now they just skip right to the endboard for turn 1 lmao

Also I know this manga is just an advertisement to get kids interested in the game and to hype up flavor (something YGO has been known to treat as an afterthought a lot of the time,) but you really set up new players to fail when you present playing "women only" as a viable strategy. Mikanko should OTKing by bonking into a Kaiju, not trying to do equip control lmao

Nice to finally see this arc translated!
Sidenote: there's a consistent typo in your translations, the archetype's name should be "Gishki", not "Gish(i)ki"

They usually only do that if the deck is rather new in ocg during the release time of the chapter. Gishki wasn't that new during the release of that chapter even if you count the new wave of support. But anyway so far we haven't seen the newest Sky Striker yet even at the latest raw.

Wait a minute, I didn't notice this earlier, but why on EARTH is he on Ghost Reaper and Winter Cherries? HE'S PLAYING A RITUAL MIRROR! If he was playing normally, I could understand the idea of filling up your ED with random meta deck cards to hate out, but in the situation where he surely knew he was going against other Ritual Decks, what exactly is he doing with Cherries?

Calling this viable in context is a stretch. "Women Only" worked because it was a very good deck at the time (Mikanko) vs a pretty bad deck, Gishki, themed Gishki at that, in a for fun ritual event where neither players are great at the game. I don't think any kids are gonna read this manga and be like "oh yeah, my women only Maliss deck is going to destroy my locals against Yummy Mitsurugi".

Huh? He doesn't know dude, he only knows what she's playing on the moment they play, winter cherry was probably just his tech option.

The ceremony they built the decks for are ritual duels, they said it was a ritual ceremony duel in chapters 41 and 42, he knew that coming in that she would be on a ritual deck, and sure, it could hit Dyna Mondos and Heralds and stuff, but surely any other handtrap would have been better there.

They meant actual ritual ceremony duel just like yugi vs atem. They just happened to use ritual monsters
