I'm not sure either of those takes were the point of the whole match development: this was too focused on the characters and there were no indication of the importance of the match, no dramatic close-ups on the key moments.
I think we are supposed to see this from an outsiders perspective, our protagonist on the stands. She points out the changes on the mood of the characters, an I think it's their feelings what it's the actual point of the match.
