That's the thing. Whether it's shounen/seinen or shoujo/josei, its mostly the FL persuing the ML (apart from those obsessive tyrant ones where ML acts like a possessive 5 y/o). In shounen, it's a gloomy/introvert/paranoid MC getting chased by the class Madonna (who used to hate clingy men around her but acts the same way with protagonist). In josei/shoujo, there's a heavy chunk of manga where a plain ass girl with low self-esteem running after the most popular boy in class while there's a 2nd ML trying his best to woo her in.
