This is decidedly not my kind of thing; I find it annoying. But I can't say I was sucked in on false pretenses--any time there's weird memory problems in stories, there's trauma, so I should have seen something like this coming I guess.
At this point the obvious solution is murder and I can't think of any really reliable plan B.
