my theory is that the dude wished for a doppel of the real linaria, and that the linaria we have a pov of is the doppelganger. like the researcher gal said, he wants the doppelganger to care about him, and he's lowkey trying to have her replace the real one by booking her concerts and stuff. the real one is trying to kill the guy, not her, because he's a parasocial creep. he also said early that he's "just a classmate" meaning they don't really have history, which supports the idea. chapter is a part 1, so we'lll see. i'm pretty sure she's the doppel though
