This couple are sort of weird in the context of the manga overall. I mean, we've got this comedic setting with a ton of romances that are awkward and full of tsundere stuff but basically fluffy, and then we have this, which is done with the same tone but if you look at the actual characters and their relationship it's something out of one of those dark twisted semi-tragedy manga with psycho self-harming characters. It's sort of fascinating, but kind of jarring, like if your vanilla shoujo had a chapter by dowman seiman every so often.
