It feels like that kiss was inserted just because author wanted them both to kiss eventually but ax happened, so they just made the kiss happen now because the end is near. The "indirect kiss" is just a lame excuse. How she figured that kissing another girl would make her closer to Sakine is beyond me.

Like, don't get me wrong, I wanted them to end up together but the build-up to the whole situation just doesn't make sense when Mafuyu don't even consider Chiyoko as a romantic option right now.

Feels like I've wasted my time reading this, though I'll stick around to read the final chapter/epilogue out of curiosity.
I wanted Chiyoko to end up with Mafuyu more so than with Sakine (she seems more of a prick, so she could have gotten back with Shinoppe for all I care) but bloody hell, even if this was axed I assume the author would have known a few chapters ago, and still all they could come up with was this to wrap things up!?

I don’t think she kissed her to get closer to sakine unless I’m misunderstanding what you are saying.. she kissed her because she likes chiyoko (if that’s her name) she said she was overwriting it and the indirect kiss comment was more of she was just embarrassed and made a joke. Since we find out she likes chiyoko that’s how I interpreted it. And you saying she didn’t consider her as a romantic option didn’t she realize her feelings for her during the school trip?
