Its on par with schools giving chromebooks for use, just smaller really. Also your school must be pretty damn old fashioned if phones arent allowed, thats not super common for most schools.

It does vary by country (sometimes), and by school.

In my case, 'round covid time, I was offered a tablet. It was ass and didnt even work, so it was returned and I used my (garbage but functional) laptop instead. Hasnt been necessary since thankfully as I have an okay laptop now.

Sucks to hear though, im sure you can like... protest that... idk

It's pretty common these days actually, my lil nephew is lent a tablet for online classes every semester.

i hope this makes you feel old, but everything is done digitally nowadays. around here, we got chromebooks around 2014 or so for schoolwork.

You guys are making me feel old, it hasn't been even so long since I graduated from High school, I used to live in a developing country so the introduction of internet and technology in the realms of education was a pretty far-fetched idea, we were allowed to use Computers which were WITHIN the school grounds. It wasn't until the pandemic that my country switched their curriculum online, I guess that's the difference between a developed and a developing country.
