Sad lmao if he turned off women because of his experience seeing his mom like that. Also the noises the comatose dude making was kinda concerning, who knows theres stroke or breathing blocking even with the medic with the bath team got him checked, but him dying off probably better for the family, dude just gotta suffer a bit more so everyone gets character development(s).

Riku seems like he puts older people on a pedestal. When they don't live up to that pedestal, he becomes disillusioned with them.

Riku could have abandoned Goro. So to a degree, he believes in loyalty and not abandoning your loved ones.

I'm hoping his character development is about not putting other people on a pedestal and holding others to moral standards he doesn't follow himself.

Why is Riku disappointed?! He is a homewrecker too. Yuria's husband was having nights out with him while he never broke it off?Boy stfu
Omg I know. I think its just misogyny and he just hates women. He thinks him homewrecking isn't bad because he "was in love" but to him women feeling romantic interest is them being fickle and untrustworthy. I hope his "backstory" of seeing his mom with the cook is called out in story for being a piss poor excuse for treating women horribly

Her mini-breakdown in this chapter is incredibly human given all she’s had to deal with so far. I feel so bad for her and look forward to this all passing over for her asap.

FUCK Riku, what an awful person. He saw his single mom flirt with a man who was also single and became a misogynist? And then wrecked a home and thinks he's morally right? On top of all this, his personality is disgusting too. Someone needs to smack some reality into him
there's a very long line of people who wants to have a "talk" with the POS

I feel so bad for Yuria. I hope she learns she’s lovable and desirable too, even if Pa didn’t really make her feel that way as time passed.

Wow. I just caught up with this from the start. Thank you for this translation of this incredibly powerful and poignant work. As someone mostly bedbound at 37 with a neurological illness that came on a few years ago, I am moved, feel guilty, and feel seen all at once. My partner cares for me and has sacrificed so much life to be by my side. I often long for my partner to find someone else to love so that sense of spark and joy could be found again.

Riki is incredibly misogynistic and he doesn’t seem to realize that. He resent women for the fact that men, the gender he is attracted to, can be seen public with them while he has to stay hidden or in shadows. He put Yuria on a pedestal because despite finding out her husband cheated on her, she still cared for him but in his mind he thinks he’s “won” since Goro was with him. He holds that over Yuria and now seeing her move on upsets him becasue it shows he has no victory over her. Yuria isn’t beset to Goro and she can move on. But him? He can’t. Roku is an incredibly selfish character and his attitude gets worse.
