weird pointless twist for no reason, and the only payoff is looking back on the scratching moment and going "aha, that makes sense, even though it wasn't not making sense before anyway"
I'd say I'd headcanon the last page out of my mind or just check out, but this whole manga started off with something so idiotic that I never even checked in

It was genuinely fine without the twist I think the twist brought it down. Also it really made them crazy cat ladies they were having like full on paragraph long conversations with a cat. It might have been my favorite chapter if they didn't do the twist. Hell it already kind of had a twist because when it starts you're thinking this could be some sort of weird incest deal where she's like genuinely in love with her sister so there was already a twist that that didn't happen.
