The horror depiction is good. But somehow the story is rather simple, as in lacking....hmm, spice? like mystery or a twist.

Like when the mc said 'don't go near it' I thought the twist would be something different than she is wanting to die, which probably most of the readers would probably expect, even if mc said nothing.
