It's pretty rare for me to feel like a story just goes on for the sake of it, if there is some greater plot thread or important build up on this, it seems to elude me completely. To be honest this could just be a series of loosely connected (by a observer protagonist) oneshots.

In ghosts cbs, tho that's more of a 'comedy' rather than horror, ghosts usually have a 'boundary' to a property so i wonder if destroying it they'd still be stuck in the area or more roaming free

i guess the dad decided to join them? Tho i half expected when Kanata said, 'what are they running from'? for there to be a plot twist of "oh this guywas just an abusive piece of shit and deserved to die" XP

There's definitely some kind of plot building in the background with how all these events seem to be connect to this "river." The dialogue on page 21 implies that, whatever is causing these events, it's increasing in scale somehow.

Look she's no Kaya-chan but would it really have hurt to put her beer down, gotten off the couch, and maybe just watch the Dad wander off into the darkness after a ghost before he made such a rash decision?

I genuinely can't tell where is this story going. Like even in this chapter, what even happened? Okay I get the dad offer himself but the ghost? And what exactly is she (our mc) doing here?

I think a man who was already willing to live in a tent in his yard with nobody in his life checking in on him or seeing whats up..... a man like that was already killing himself slowly.

It's a bitter end. Oddly I like our protagonists cavalier attitude about these things. It's fun to see sometimes, for a little fresh air.

"There's no way to exorcise ghosts"
The problem with that statement, and any and all ghost stories -- is that if that's the case, the world should be absolutely flooded with pissed off spirits. Life on Earth should be near impossible.
