i guess official seal stamps are important but you'd think a legal signature would be enough unless it's like a lot of paperwork at one office so it's easier to multi-stamp thing. wonder if some american/non japanese person born in or immigrated to JP would still have to use/order their own stamp lol

From what I gather, the guy was spending too much time at work, neglecting his family. The one day he arrives home early, he finds his wife drowned in a puddle on the floor, and somehwere offscreen his daughter dead, too. Presumably the wife went mad and killed their daughter and herself. It's possible they are trying to pull him to afterlife with him, so out of fear he sleeps in the tent, but had to go in cause the stamp needed to sign official documents is still in the house.

I remember reading 6000, another work of his which began as atmospheric horror, only to get totally taken aback by undersea elder gods showing up outta nowhere. His works can be very unpredictable.
