Yep, tbh when Kazuma trashtalked about having a young girl slave is probably to make Haruka doesn't feel bad for leaving him, and prob Ceres too, tho both of them know what Kazuma meant.Seems pretty sensible from Kazuma's perspective. I can relate to not being in love with a partner but also wanting them to have a happy life after we separate. The only weird thing is wanting to watch them fuck, but I guess it's just his thing. Aside from that, the amount of rage in this comment thread was also very funny.
Common sense doesn't exist here indeed 😂
I get your point about how fucked up big brother Kazuma seemed in this chapter, but about the alternative as portraying him as abusive, I'm pretty sure we're already set up to see an abusive husband with the other moms, one of which was said to be a slave and the other who was said to be manipulated into work by her husband, so I get why the author wanted some variety instead of making every husband different flavors of wife beaterI said this in the other translation, but they would've been better off just making the guy (not the MC, the husband of this chapter's focus girl) an abusive asshole that the MC has to rescue her from. Because this sort of weird indifferent "I'm doing you a favor giving you my ugly old hag of a wife that I don't care about so that I can also go get a young slave to turn into a sex toy oh and also work in my shop, heh heh heh heh heh heh" attitude is far more gross. But instead of leaning into how disturbing that is the author sets it up like we're supposed to respect his decision and just cheer the MC because he gets to love all the sexy milfs that their society casts off.
Justifying the universe's scummy behavior and ethics to no real useful end is a choice.
