Not to mention he seems pretty young at the moment. How young was he when he was first tossed onto the battlefield? Its not likely he had much of a chance to emotionally mature, especially not in this fantasy medieval culture. From village boy to child soldier to teenage/young celebrity, the fact he's turned out this good is a miracle.

Don't think people really hate him here though, just frustrated he's taking up space when most of the other characters are more interestingly written.

52 chapters and actual mc had the least amount of time in his actual story, the main "couple" is so laughably irrelevant it's crazy 😐

"Irrelevant" seems harsh. They get stuff done. They're basically the reason all the other couples are proceeding so smoothly.

After all, we're watching the one couple they chose not to interfere in go to pieces right now.

It's true that the story is (has been?) mostly treating their relationship as a foregone happy conclusion, but I kinda like that. It's nice to have a story that just doesn't bother with the drama and says "we both know where this is headed, so let's skip the nonsense, yeah?" It's not common, and the execution is entertaining too, so I vibe with it.
