Well, 2 things come to mind.
First, the mc is THAT op, the demon king wouldn't stand a chance against him, so the holy sword probably knew that too.
Second, youki never really intended to kill them, likely the sword didn't see youki as a actual threat to them or the hero's wellbeing.

The irony here is by that logic the sword see's him breaking ties with mikana as being more dangerous than fighting the demon lord.
