If he can freely leave the cave, why didn't he until he found the cleric?
If he can transform into a human, what was the point behind the sentiment: "nobody wants help from a demon"?

It was more interesting to find holes in this odd weave than actually reading it.
A very bizarre choice to translate this subpar story.

I believe I did, and the story just kept going with the idea of an unlikely, peculiar pairing.
The rest of the story wasn't really all that interesting, and all I'm saying is that the start of the story was so needlessly forced that it made me stop and comment on it.

Yes, yes they did. He was completely overpowered, and was the only thing stopping an otherwise strong team from progressing. Without him they killed the demon king

Maybe the demon king has some sort of "Race control" ability. That's why he couldn't leave until the Hero Party defeated it. Although, I don't yet know why he didn't let them through in the first place.
