Yes it's a manga from Japan,.. but it's not playing in japan, nor is it following the actual society of japan,

Yes, but also no. The writer is obviously going to work with what they're used to in Japan because that's their frame of reference and what makes it relatable to the Japanese audience even if the series isn't set in or meant to be obviously templated off of Japan culturally. I've seen multiple fantasy-world manga that have some sort of winter holiday that is blatantly just Christmas with a few tweaks and it invariably ends up having attention paid to the idea that it's meant as a romantic holiday for couples even though that attitude is mostly a very Japanese one and not shared in places where the more secular current version of Christmas grew out from its religious origins. It doesn't make sense for a pseudo-European feudal fantasy world, but it does make sense for something meant to be easily read and understood by a Japanese audience.

also didn't say she's supposed to be rude to him, i only said it's unlikely to cause problems, if she voiced her -opinion- to him it's not their parents or anyone is present

That would still be impolite. Not necessarily rude, but improper. Again, we're talking about a writer from a place whose idea of cultural normalcy for awkward situations is to dance around uncomfortable topics or outright rejection and expect the other party to figure out what you're doing and let you off the hook so that you don't have to bear the shame of saying something they don't want to hear.

Also she has yet to suggest, or say to anyone (for the reader only even) that she has feelings for Yuuki at this point, though the romance tag suggests as much, maybe we get a twist 😶

It seems reasonably clear that she does have feelings given how much she enjoys spending time with him and how "normal" she acts around him, plus comments from others like her mother and their friends.

Again, that's par for the course in manga. Writers don't like being direct when they can dance around the issue and hint at it with the expectation that the audience understands what's going on.

They'll also stall because like 90% of romcom authors believe that the story ends at the confession and there's little to write with the characters in a relationship. So speeding to that point only serves to potentially hasten the end of the story.

I feel like hopefully we will finally see them get closer after this. I feel like something will happen in this arc. If nothing happens I'm going to be sad. Also it would have been funny if this was like Trapped in an otome game where he thought he was going to be a guest to the marriage but was in fact the groom 😅
So is that manga over, or is it just the latest volume ended?

Even leaving aside japanese cultural norms, it would be quite off-putting for their family to accept the proposal for the interview, only for her to shut him down before they go through the motions. If they were going to reject them outright, they could have rejected the interview in the first place. Not have the guy take time off of his other duties, travel to their territory, and then be told the trip was pointless.

All of this leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but if it's a world of arranged marriages, then the family would have Cecilia meet multiple candidates and her parents would pick the one bringing the most benefits to the family. That's all.

I suspect that by coincidence the area Yuuki has to patrol is the one where the "date" takes place...

I'm gonna guess the guy Cecilia is meeting is that other chuuni adventurer, possibly

A quest to patrol the town.. what a great cover for why he will be following her showing the guy around the town. Raven is such a wingman.

Alternatively, a quest like for the Hero, to make sure he is busy elsewhere.

I personally think, that this quest is more or less the same as the quest for the hero. To distract with giving him something to do, while Cecilia deals with it.

Actually, I've been wondering if some other people are actually aware that Youki is a potential successor to the Demon King. It was mentioned earlier that tensions are heating up since the Demon King's death. In the event of war resulting from the heightened tensions amongst the other nations, Celia and some others might be glad to have Youki around and might ask him to get the Demon Nation with Clariness in a defensive alliance. It kind of doesn't feel right that it's been accepted for the fight between the Demon King and Hero's Party to take one month during the Group Date arc. I think that maybe the King knows what actually happened already.

For example: It was only a small detail in the beginning, but when Youki asked Cecilia to stay behind, Mikana blushed and seemed to understand he wanted to ask her out. We don't know how much Mikana revealed to others or how honest Cecilia has been with her family and top staff and I don't buy that her mother or Sofia hasnt been listening in on them from time to time when they talked about his time as a demon before arriving in Minerva.

Mikana has definitely been aware of it all since the beginning, she seemed to notice his quick glances at Cecilia and the group was becoming more familiar with each other during that month. Funny that Cecilia never actually understood it until Youki asked her to stay behind.

Therefore, benefits wise, Clariness has a good shot at gaining a useful ally.

I'm not sure anyone knows who Youki was, aside from the hero party. It's not really something they would talk about later: not only technically but also literally the hero party made a deal with a demon, after all, in order to defeat the demon king. Would you advertise such a fact? Especially since they left behind the saint to make that deal. Everything ended well, but it's still dodgy as a story. Maybe they could colour it as the saint's grace being so superb that even a demon couldn't resists it, but at the end of the day, the less they talk, the better, instead of coming up with fancy tales Yuuga wouldn't understand anyway.

In fact I can't even exactly remember if Yuuga recognises him. He's quite an idiot, after all, which makes him an excellent hero. Cecilia and Youki definitely haven't been talking much about it. Sofia is intelligent, so who knows. She definitely wouldn't care, though, as long as she's sure Youki loves Cecilia and is under Cecilia's control since that's the only kind of marriage Sofia recommends.

Youki might have a demon's body, but he's otherwise not interested in demonic stuff, so I don't believe he would be of use in using demons against other nations. More likely he would don his chuuni gear and beat the generals of invading armies.
